“Train a child in the way he should go, and when he is old he will not depart from it.”

Proverbs 22:6

These words capture the tremendous importance of education in the development of the future leaders of any country. Christian Mission Fellowship in recognition of the pivotal role that education plays, approved in it’s 1997 Annual Conference that the church be involved in the development of educational institutions all around Fiji.

The concept of this educational development started when Christian Mission Fellowship moved in to it’s present commercial and church premises in 1996. CMF Founder and President, Rev.Suliasi Kurulo was moved by the serious and difficult condition of the children playing by the roadside and immediate settlements off Khalsa road when they should have been attending classes. on enquiries it was established that most of these children’s families cannot afford the financial burden of travelling to schools outside the Nasinu area.

The answer to these problems were to make education available within the area they live. It was also vitally important to introduce the children to the knowledge of God at a very early age and nurture them through the Word to become Godly leaders as they grow to maturity.

Both the Newtown Christian Kindergarten and Primary school were established in 1998 and 1999 respectively. Since then two streams of the next class have been added up each year. In 2006 the first lot of two streams of class 8 sat for the Fiji Eighth Year Examination where the CMF Primary attained a 99% pass rate, the highest in the Nasinu area.

In December 2009 construction works for CMF Primary School commenced at it’s new site at the Tacirua East sub-division.The two schools were temporarily located within the CMF church  premises for a year while constructions were underway. The school was  officially opened in May 2010 during the CMF Annual Conference.
